Welcome to Cairo! Our 15-day Egypt trip will begin in Cairo, where you will be greeted by our representatives upon arrival at Cairo International Airport. They will assist and transfer you to your hotel, where you can check in and settle in after your exhausting travel.
You will have free time to relax and unwind, perhaps taking a nap or exploring the hotel's amenities. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
You will have an exclusive opportunity to visit the renowned Giza Plateau, which is home to the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza before it is opened to the general public.
You will visit the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the only remaining wonder of the ancient world, where we will have exclusive access to the Queen's Chamber and the Subterranean Chamber, which are usually off-limits to the public.
After a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant, we will continue to the Egyptian Museum, where we will see an impressive collection of artwork spanning 5,000 years. The museum houses over 250,000 genuine artifacts, such as an exhibition of Tutankhamun's riches, gold, and jewelry collection that remained in his tomb for over 3500 years.
After the museum visit, we will take you back to your hotel, where you can relax.
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel to visit Coptic Cairo, which is a part of Old Cairo and is home to the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and many other Coptic churches and historical landmarks. According to Christian mythology, the Holy Family passed through this area and stayed at the site of the Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga). Despite the fact that most of the churches' current architecture was built after the Muslim invasion of Egypt in the 7th century, and Coptic Cairo remained a stronghold for Christianity in Egypt until the Islamic era.
Our next stop will be the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which is also known as the Synagogue of the Levantines or the El-Geniza Synagogue. According to local folklore, this is the location where baby Moses was found. Hebrew, Aramaic, and Judeo-Arabic secular and religious manuscripts were discovered in this synagogue in the 19th century in its genizah, or store chamber. Solomon Schechter initiated the transfer of the Cairo Geniza collection to the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England, and it is now dispersed throughout several academic institutions.
After our tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo, where you can relax.
We will take an early morning flight to Luxor, the site of ancient Thebes and the former capital of Egypt. Upon arrival, we will board a nice cruise ship to start our tour down the Nile River.
Our first stop will be the expansive Karnak Temple Complex, containing the ruins of temples, pylons, and obelisks dating back thousands of years. It is one of the largest religious sites ever constructed. We'll have lunch on board our cruise ship.
In the evening, we will visit Luxor Temple, which is known for its huge statue of Ramses II and towering obelisks.
Dinner will be served on the ship.
After breakfast, we will take our cruise ship across the Nile to the West Bank of Luxor. We will visit three tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and you will pay extra fees to enter King Tutankhamun's famous tomb.
Next, we will see the Colossi of Memnon, which are two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Then we will go to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari, which is a unique temple that was made of limestone cliffs. Many of the other temples in this era were made of sandstone.
Lunch will be served on our cruise ship. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the views of the Nile as we sail on to Kom Ombo.
Today our first stop will be Kom Ombo Temple, which dates back to ancient Egypt's Ptolemaic dynasty. We'll also visit the Crocodile Museum to see mummified crocodiles.
This evening we'll enjoy a "galabeya party" with traditional Egyptian food. Everyone can wear galabeyas, which is the customary Egyptian garment that can be purchased locally or on the ship. After dinner, there will be live Egyptian music and dancing that everyone is welcome to join in. It's a great chance to meet fellow travelers and experience traditional Egyptian culture.
When we arrive in Edfu, horse-drawn carriages will take us to the magnificent Temple of Horus, which is one of the best-preserved temples today that was dedicated to the god Horus and is located in the city of Edfu.
We'll then reboard our cruise ship and sail away from Edfu back towards Luxor. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax on the sundeck and enjoy the views of the Nile, the desert, farmlands, villages, and more.
We'll start the day by checking out and then visiting the Unfinished Obelisk, which is the biggest obelisk in the whole place. That thing is massive!
Then we're off to the Temple of Isis on an island in the river. We'll take a speedboat to get there and explore the temple honoring the goddesses of health, wisdom, and love.
After lunch, we'll head over to see the incredible Aswan High Dam, which is the largest project in Modern Egypt to prevent destructive flooding and extreme droughts from generating electricity.
Then we'll cruise back to the ship, where we can relax.
We'll move from Aswan and head to Abu Simbel to see those two jaw-dropping temples that were carved right into the rock. They are seriously some of the coolest ancient Egyptian stuff you'll ever see.
After that, you will catch your flight back to Cairo.
We're in for a full-day trip to Fayoum! After breakfast, we'll ride an air-conditioned bus for about an hour and a half. Then we jump in some all-terrain vehicles for a 4x4 safari to the Whale Valley World Heritage Site—you won't believe how many prehistoric whale fossils you see there!
Next, we head to the aptly named Fayoum Magic Lake, where we'll have time for a swim or try sandboarding down the dunes.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with some great Fayoum cuisine.
After lunch, we hit up the Qasr Qarun Temple, which is an ancient Egyptian temple that was built around a spring that's still running today.
In the evening, we'll be back to our Cairo hotel for a good dinner to refuel after an action-packed day in Fayoum!
After finishing breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, you will be transported to the Cairo International Airport to catch your flight to Sharm El-Sheikh. This flight is part of your budget tour in Egypt. When you arrive in Sharm El-Sheikh, one of our representatives will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel. You can check-in and then have free time for the rest of the afternoon and evening to explore Sharm El-Sheikh on your own. You will spend the night at the hotel in Sharm before continuing your tour.
Get ready for an adventurous afternoon! Around 2:00 p.m., your private tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh. It's just a short 15-minute drive to the nearby Quad Bike Center. Here, you'll have a brief safety and instruction session. You'll spend the next hour riding through the breathtaking Sinai desert as part of our Egypt vacation package.
About an hour into the quad bike trip, you'll reach the highest vantage point. Take a break here to rest and sip some traditional Bedouin herbal tea. After returning your bike to the center, your air-conditioned transportation will drive you back to your hotel. Spend the rest of your evening relaxing however you want.
You'll overnight at the hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh before your next tour in Egypt!
After enjoying the breakfast at your hotel, you'll be transferred to the sea dock around 8:00 a.m. Here you'll board a boat to Ras Mohamed National Park for a relaxing snorkeling trip in Sharm El Sheikh. You'll have the chance to discover the incredible underwater world of the Red Sea, which is home to over 130 coral reef species and 1,000 vibrant fish.
The boat will stop three times throughout the excursion so you can swim and snorkel in crystal-clear waters. Lunch will also be served onboard. At the end of the day, the boat will bring you back to shore, where a car will take you back to your hotel.
You'll stay overnight in Sharm el-Sheikh before continuing your Egypt vacation.
On your last day of your Cairo and Sharm el Sheikh tour package, enjoy breakfast at your hotel and get ready to check out.
